In Chawosauria, the Social Democratic-Green Party Alliance (also known as the SDGPA) was a Chawosaurian red-green alliance between the Social Democratic Workers' Labour Party and the Grassroots Democratic People's Green Party of Chawosauria that was formed on September 18, 2018. This bipartisan alliance was formed due to an electoral fusional candidacy of Jonathan Dragan Bismarck XX, the great-grandson of Chawosaurian Prime Minister, Jonathan Dragan Bismarck XVII.
The alliance began opposing Degotoga K. Atagulkalu's war policies, criticized his slow activities in the investigations into the Poseidon oil rig blowout, and his silence of the Great Blackout, a nationwide power outage caused by the shortage of coal. Their alliance went into full effect when on the evening of December 5, 2018, the alliance broke away from the Left-Wing Coalition, permanently weakened Degotoga K. Atagulkalu's power and leverage over the Chawopolis Palace, and this break-up led to a quick transition of the Left-Wing Coalition, from a Supermajority coalition to a minority coalition. The Social Democratic-Green Party Alliance became the largest coalition in the Palace, but no coalition has a clear majority (501 seats needed for a majority).
The alliance's withdraw from the Left-Wing Coalition will be officialized on January 1, 2019, and a new joint session of the January 1, 2018-December 31, 2019 government will start by January 3, 2019. On March 3, 2019, Supreme Leader Degotoga K. Atagulkalu died in office and was replaced by SDGPA member Ekewaka Mikala Kalawai'a, giving the SDGPA brief control of the Monarchy and gained a minority government following the collapse of the DKA Coalition supermajority government on July 16, 2019 in the Imperial Assembly of the Chawopolis Palace. This sort of trifecta was short-lived; in the 2019 Chawosaurian elections, Supreme Leader Kalawai'a was drafted via primary to run for reelection in the 2019 Chawosaurian direct election, and the SDGPA sought to win a supermajority in the 2019 Chawosaurian legislative elections. However, the SDGPA was stormed out of power by Shang Jong Parker and his Chawosaurian Communist Party, creating a massive Communist Party government. As a result of their blowout defeat, the two-party SDGPA went their separate partisan ways; with the entire Green caucus completely wiped out by Communists and the Social Democratic caucus partially damaged and being the only remaining non-communist caucus against this new Communist Party government, the Social Democrats no longer saw the Greens as essential, resulting in tensions against each other and the Greens feeling betrayed.
The SDGPA collapsed when the 24th Chawopolis Palace retired at 11:59, December 31, 2019. The Social Democratic Workers' Labour Party went on to join the Chawosaurian Communist Party by forming the Socialist Coalition in 2022 after spending two years governing in bipartisanship with the Chawosaurian Communist Party since the COVID-19 pandemic stormed in March 2020. The Grassroots Democratic People's Green Party of Chawosauria became a stray left-wing party in the 2020-2029 Chawosaurian Opposition.
